So Matthew and Jill's wedding is over, and we are recuperating. Wedding's are hard, hard work. The morning was beautiful, the brightest, sunniest day we have had for a while. Our hair people came over bright and early, (6;30 a.m.). They fixed Matt's hair really fast, he wanted David Beckhams hair do. Then they styled my hair and Carly's. Liz made Paula's hair all curly and pretty. Kim and Matt left for the temple. We hung out at home for a while because the wedding didn't start till 11:00. Driving to the temple we were pulled over by the highway patrol, because I made and illegal lane change into the carpool lane. He didn't give me a ticket for that, but my passengers in the back got one for not wearing their seatbelts. Didn't want to wrinkle their clothes. The Temple grounds were just beautiful, all the spring flowers blooming. Tulips 3ft high, masses of color everywhere, people everywhere, brides everywhere. The ceremony was very touching and Matt and Jill looked so very happy. All their dreams come true. Kim and Allen were the witnesses. I didn't have any grandparents sitting next to me because grandma was really sick and grandpa stayed home with her. Liz Busath sat next to me, sitting in her role as Matthew's second mother from his childhood. We took pictures outside on the west side of the temple. The felices had to head directly to the JSMB, the old Hotel Utah. Nikki had taken all the flowers over to the luncheon room earlier and some of the flowers had fallen out. The tables were all set with dark plum colored napkins on cream colored tablecloths. When we added the beautiful round balls of flowers it was just georgous. The balls were made out of purple and white hyderange. Nikki worked so hard the day before, I don't know how she pulled the whole thing off. Very stressful. At the luncheon we could see out the windows overlooking the Temple and main street. So so beautiful it is hard to describe. All our favorite people their in attendance, about 78. We had salad, pacific rim chicken with yummy vegies, rice and then strawberry shortcake or choclate mousse cake for dessert. Family members got to say a few words about Matthew and Jill. Matt sang a song to Jill and was accompanied by Tim. "Let my love open the door". Not the best singing but it went straight to your heart. We left the wedding lunch about 4:40 p.m. and went home changed clothes and went straight a way to the Chateau Faire for the reception. The timing was a little squeezed and we ended up taking pictures while the first people waited. The reception was fun but not a lot of room for everyone. Nikki just worked her guts out getting the flowers from the temple to the reception. Paula helped her a lot. It seemed like just hundreds of people came. Interested to know how many because it seemed like 400 to me. Feet were very sore and the house was really hot. I wanted to jump out the window and run away. It took sheer perserverence to get through the night. High heels on a hard wood floor for 3 hours. OUCH. They cut the cake, threw the bouquet, (paula caught it of course) then drove away in a white Limo. They got to Sandiego but we havent heard from them since. Hope they are having the time of their lives.
